As ICF’s Chief Scientist – Africa, you will serve as the senior scientific leader guiding the strategic use of world-class science to shape conservation impact across the continent. You will champion an evidence-driven culture across all Africa programmes, strengthening the scientific rigour behind our planning, monitoring, and adaptive management systems while empowering country teams to apply effective, field-tested, robust, and resource-appropriate methods with confidence and independence.
Grant and Technical Writer
The EWT seeks to employ a Grant and Technical Writer in its Fundraising Department. The Grant and Technical Writer will work within a broader team to drive the mobilisation of resources from trusts, foundations, bilateral and multilateral funding agencies, government and public sector institutions, tenders, and any other potential sources requiring technical input. This portfolio will include playing a support role to the Strategic Planning Manager in maintaining programmatic strategies in MIRADI (based on the Conservation Standards) and could include the formal implementation of report writing projects as and when the opportunity arises.
Conservation Adaptive Management and Planning Specialist – Africa
The Conservation Adaptive Management and Planning Specialist ensures our work in Africa achieves and demonstrates long-term, sustainable impacts for cranes, wetlands, grasslands, and communities. The position ensures that conservation investments and actions are of the highest priority and are guided by effective results and outcome-oriented conservation planning; that project and programme teams embrace evidence-based learning and consistently practice adaptive management, using data, evidence, and other information to test assumptions and adjust actions to most effectively achieve desired impacts; and that evidence of progress and impact are translated and shared with others who are important to scale up and sustain impacts.
